Location Guadalajara
Schedule March – May 2014

Project Detail

After registering the Mexico – Querétaro high-speed train, we were asked to analyze the demand for the extension of the connecting high-speed train Mexico – Querétaro – Bajío – Guadalajara.

Additional fild work was performed, in the transportation network that connects Mexico and Guadalajara.

Also, the planning model (using TRANUS) for the demand analysis of the Mexico – Querétaro High-Speed Train was complemented. Over 250 transportation areas in 15 states of the Mexican Republic were coded, along with roads and other features. The trips matrices were also captured, the model was calibrated and the projection scenarios to evaluate the project and its alternatives were coded.

Among the findings from this demand analysis, we detected the feasibility to place a station at El Bajío, using the existing regional trains, due to the high demand moving throughout the Bajío area, near León, Guanajuato.
