The design of an Integrated Public Transportation System for the Metropolitan Area of Tampico was carried out. The study included an extensive collection of field data, the structuring of a transportation model for the metropolitan area, the evaluation of alternative transportation network designs, the selection of the most beneficial alternative design, the functional and operational design of the entire SIT, the conceptual design and cost estimate of the SIT infrastructure, the environmental study and the socioeconomic evaluation of the system.
